The US Navy Body Fat Formula

The Navy uses separate logarithmic equations for each sex, with all measurements in centimeters. For men the formula is:

The constant 495 and the subtracted 450 come from the Siri body density equation, which converts an estimated density into a fat percentage. The base-10 logarithms compress the circumference range so that small tape differences do not swing the result wildly.
