What a Discount Calculator Does
A discount calculator turns the everyday question of how much you really pay into a clear number. It works in three modes. The forward mode takes an original price and a discount rate and returns the sale price and the saving, so a 25% cut on a $80.00 item shows a $60.00 price and $20.00 saved. The reverse mode goes the other way, recovering the original price when you know the sale price and the discount that was applied. The third mode compares two prices and tells you what discount rate connects them, which is useful when a tag shows both a was and a now figure but no percentage. Each mode runs on the same simple percentage relationship, so the tool keeps the math consistent whether you are shopping, checking a receipt, or setting prices for your own store. Knowing which mode you need is half the work, and the calculator handles the arithmetic once you pick it.
