How QR Codes Work
A QR code stores data in a grid of black and white squares called modules. The three large squares in the corners are finder patterns that let a scanner locate and orient the code from any angle. Smaller alignment and timing patterns keep the grid readable even when the image is tilted or slightly distorted.
The amount of data you encode determines the version, which is the size of the grid. Short links use a small version with few modules, while long text needs a larger grid with many more squares.
